Cochin Roos? Or manly looking hens?

Hi,

So my three bantam cochins are 2.5 months now. I think I hatched three roos.... but is there any chance these are hens?

Should I wait until they crow before rehoming to be sure? Or is it pretty obvious with this breed?

100% cockerels

Crap lol I keep hoping that maybe they are just masculine looking hens or a genetic fluke :(

I can only keep 1 rooster, my flock is small ...should I look at rehoming now or do I have a bit of time before they start scrapping?

I'd assume that when looking to rehome, the sooner you can get on it, the better. That way you will have a longer window to look and it will be more likely that you will find homes for them. Also make sure that you are allowed to have roos where you live, and that you have enough hens per roo (at least 6-7 hens per roo)

Without a doubt 3 cockerels. Cochin cockerels show their gender very early.

I also would start advertising ASAP. Sometimes it can be very difficult to find homes for cockerels.

Thanks everyone. That really sucks, incubated 4 eggs, one quit, and the other three all roos :( they are so sweet and we love them so much, this sucks. My son is 10 and trying to convince us to let him keep his rooster in his bedroom, which I've explained isn't feasible or fair to Cluckles.... oh well, live and learn.
