cochin roos???

I think 5 of our 6 blue cochins are roos. I'd love to see what everyone here thinks. In the first picture I have what I think is a roo in the back and (while it's not a great pic), the only blue cochin I have that seems to be a hen. They will be 8 weeks tomorrow. The other pics I think are all boys! I'm hoping its not true, but I'm doubtful.

Yep, all the combs and wattles are very red thats how you can tell

I have a pair of lemon blues, about the same age, the hen has a small, close comb and no wattles...

What a bummer! I have a feeling I'm going to have a hard time finding anyone to take them without slaughtering them.

You never know, they're very nice looking boys and Cochins are so docile..... Somebody over there must need some new yard art!

Not necessarily. I went to a Cochin breeder that had a VERY chicken aggressive Cochin hen that was in with a chicken aggressive Cochin rooster. She said they were the perfect match and they are fine together. But not the point. The hen had a very large red comb and wattles as does my Cochin hen.

The 3rd picture is kind of iffy.

Yep, looks like 5 out of the 6 are cockerels. Sell/eat 4 of the boys and keep the nicest one for the pullet
