Hi guys, (question from OZ) I have a 12 year old cochin bantam rooster, looking after a mixed lot of hens extremely well. His harem consists of 3 cochin bantam hens, 1 x Rhode Is. Red, 1 x very strange aracauna thing?/ 1 x HUGE plymouth rock. (that mating scenario is pretty hilarious!). Ok my question, he now has 9 chicks with one of the cochins, at LEAST 3 are/ will be roos. Will sibling roos coexist on a free range basis, will they find a "pecking order" and only have occassional fights or will it be a constant fight for dominance?
The chicks are only 5wks old so my old boy will keep them under control for the next 6 months or so but I cannot imagine he can go on too much longer , although VERY robust (jockey riding plymouth!). I want to keep all my roos at least for 12 months, preferably for good, will the "brothers" co exist?
