Your doin' a dandy fine job with them! The heads are excellent and they look as though they are going to have excellent type as well. Look forward to seeing them in champion row! Bo

Thanks for sharing your bloodlines Bo. Hopefully I can keep the quality up. Clare

Here's the pics of my "willow" cockerel. I could swear his feet are changing color. They are not clear yellow like some of his siblings, but maybe they've gone over to "dusky"??? Or do they still look willow to everyone? (The last 2 pics were taken on the same day.)

Craig,
Glad to see the coons left you some beautiful birds! Keep us posted as to your findings regarding who yellows in the sun and who doesn't? What about feed? Do you keep them away from yellow corn?

Thanx Casey! Clare may have more insight on this as well. I know she's asked questions before about the coloring under the top dermis layer. So I'm wondering if, as they mature, just as feathers change when they moult, possibly leg color changes as they mature? I'll have to post pictures - but NCIS is about to start!!
I, too, have had issues crop up with willow legs when I crossed the GLC splits back together. The best I have been able to figure out is that one of the males (either Black or GLC) I used to make the splits was carrying the gene and it is sex linked and recessive. Thus, females with yellow feet are great (no hidden carriers), but yellow feet in males could be hiding the gene or not. Their female offspring should tell you if the males are carriers or not.

This is my current understanding, though, I would not bet my life on this info.

Wade through this and see if I have my ducks in a row so to speak.

I posted quite a few pictures on the Mille Fleur thread, but I wanted to share some of my favorites here too

Their beautiful Nancy! And you have hollyhocks too! I have been trying to grow them from seed and it is the third year and still no flowers. That first rooster shown is very very nice! You have some beautiful MFCs.

Just wanted to say these last 4-5 pages(and before too) have been very helpful to me, all the comments from people. I read about the wide heads from Bo before I saw the columbians Craig(I read backwards) and then really noticed it. I like! And the black younger LF cochins are very beautiful also. These are DAK's? (Bo's grandfeatherchildren?) Very Nice!

I am sure i missed about half of what I was going to say. Thanks everyone for sharing. I found that Australian Pekin website. Thanks Craig. And thanks for the genetics link dak
