Cochin Thread!!!

Who is going to make it to the Ohio Nationals at Columbus Nov 10? I entered 10 birds and am planning to attend.

I will be there to see the birds and purchase some mottled cochins hopefully. I also want to check out using wing bands instead of leg bands. I feel a little bit intimidated by the prospect of putting them on, but it seems like the leg bands would be silly to use since I would have to look under the bird's "skirt" to even see them.

I like wing bands, but you don't see them either, unless you go looking for them. Some of my Silkies have wing bands, and most of the time I completely forget they're there.

Thought I'd post a couple pictures of cute Calico cockerels while I was at it

Hmm, maybe I will just stick with the oversized leg bands since I already have them and is easier to remove if I need to sell the bird. I guess if you have fluffy birds like cochins and silkies, it is just going to be covered no matter what, eh?

I think you already know that Mandy and I will be there, she's showing 14 and I'm showing 4, but I'm bringing a bunch for sale. As you might guess I'm very excited, I love the shows and wish I could do a lot more, however finances keep that passion reigned in.
Looking forward to seeing you and everyone else.

I love wing bands, you can put them on at just a few days old and then you can forget about them! The leg bands have to either wait till they're grown or you have to remember to check on them so they don't get too tight
