very nice. well, it looks like all my hopes will be placed on that little red pullet i showed above. a predator got the red girl i got from casey yesterday... raccoon i'm guessing. pulled her thru the wire of the pen..

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. Will it ever end??? I lost 23 to a Bobcat 2 weeks ago & Nancy's barn burned on Sat. Sometimes it is really hard to stay positive. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Yes, the 11 I lost, to dogs, last summer still stings.
I will not give up though and Spring is right around the corner and that means CHICKS!

I just lost my 2 self blue Roos. They saved the hens aparently since they were the only ones dead.

Anyone have a self blue they are willing to part with? 5 self blue hens and a split roo that I wanted to get rid of. Does not make me happy. Why can't they kill the ones I'm taking to auction or selling?

thanks... it stinks, but nothing compared to nancy's losses... that just hurts to think about.

i got lucky with my coop fire, all the babies went into the pen and avoided the flames/smoke...

the one cockerel who went out the burning hole was undamaged, but apparently the smoke must have gotten to him because i lost him 2 days later. fortunately it didn't spread to any other pens/coops either. electrical fire caused by a faulty cfl bulb. the heat was off at the time, only the light was on, to encourage them to go in to eat...

I had a lavender roo Oscar and lost him too...he was my favorite. I cant seem to keep my cochins...appparently they are a fav of many. :0( I jist lost my golden laced hen (Reese) this week as well. She just disappeared. Its hheartbreaking. ..but I luckily habe some of her eggs incubating so at least I still have a part of her.

Wow, I just caught up on 80 something pages. I am very sorry about everyones loses on birds and barns

And everybodys bird pictures looks great. Keep up the good work. We got some sunshine yesterday, so while my daughter napped I got some pictures snapped.
