I am just getting strated with my groups, I plan on doing Silver laced, Mottled, White, blue and buff barred. just gotta build more pens to accomadate my growing cochin addiction

Im not really sure... I think Sophie stopped laying at 5 and midnight stopped laying at 4

I hate to keep posting questions on here, I tried to post under the raising chicks forum but didnt get much help. I have a 2 day old cochin that seems to have something odd going on with her feet. I don't remember this with my other Cochins but I purchased them at 3 days old .
Anyways here's a pic

See how the 3rd tow is a dark color and is very small. It's so small you can't see it while the bird is standing up

I'm not taking about the back 4th toe but the 3rd one that is usually visible from above.
Anyone have any idea why this is like this? Will she be ok?

I have a Silkie bantam chick with feet EXACTLY like that... she seems okay she just trips sometimes.. she is cute though lol...mines name is Kora

HI, i just got 3 new Cochin pullets. Can anyone identify what they are???

They don´t look like cochins to me. The black one is a pullet, the other 2 are roosters.

I'd say Black, Mutt coloring, and blue. but only the black one looks like a pullet....

I have to agree - when I have to look at a bird more than once to find the Cochin in it, it leads me to believe it is not purebred. And the 3rd Blue definitely looks like a cockerel.

Roosters are never pullets. Pullets are female. Roosters and cockerals are male. Pullets and hens are female. Chickens are both male and female.
