Cochin Thread!!!

Quote: Yikes, I had not compared their prices to others. Another on line site is Cutlers, they sell ship boxes (I think). And, I have even seen them on E Bay, but not very often.......

I use a 'fishhook scale' I got off ebay for under $10. weighs up to 45 pounds to 2 decimal places... it's VERY accurate. I use this for weighing all my boxes and compared to usps when I got it there. they agreed it was accurate enough (about .05 off or so. LOL)

pic off one of the ebay auctions

Mine's a fishhook too, but a little bigger than that one. I like the convenience of it - it's easy to use. I guess I'll be buying a new one ~

That's where I normally get my boxes & have for years. However, the shipping to CA costs the same price as a case of boxes. Makes the cost of each box double. :(

Yup they're who I get my boxes from too, and yup you have to factor in the cost of shipping to the price of each box.

Calling all Cochin experts!!! I have updated pictures of my Partridge Cochin which I am hoping and praying is a hen...any guesses...
Keely is 4 1/2 weeks old...

No it is comb growth/size and comb color(not showing bright red) and not showing wattles like male chicks do. I also think it is a pullet but have to say that my Partridge bantams develop slower than almost every other variety I have. I have been fooled a few times.
