Cochin Thread!!!

Hi these are 3 of my 4 chicks that i think maybe cochin, they are 2 weeks old

loving the colouring coming through on the wings
also on this onenot the best pic and the 4th one wouldn't let take one, similar colour but darker with a very dark grey head
any ideas on their colouring and when should i be able to tell if they are girls or boys, not sure if they are LF or bantams, got the eggs free to hatch under my broody but no info, also have 5 serama x chicks in the same hatch but they are more advanced with their feathering, until now have only had LF a white star, skyline, sussex x, speckeldy and some that are no longer with us

I won't take a guess on color yet, but they all look like pullets.

Thanks fingers crossed that they are all pullets, I have 9 chicks altogether 5 are serama crosses, I have just built them a new coop and nearly lost my finger when the saw slipped (ouch) so am hoping for as many pullets as I can get

Flockofbantams, Rhandi74 I was going to find pics to show the difference. They wouldnt be mine to share so I didn't, but if you google splash cochin rooster and then light blue cochin rooster, you can see the difference. I do think he is splash. Blue to blue breedings make 25% black 25% splash 50% blue

Here is older pics of him, I do think he is a splash. It is kind of hard to tell with all the variances in colors. So by breeding him to Jewel the chicks should be 50/50 blue and splash? She is only laying on two of her eggs the rest are a barnyard mix. I just decided to let her have what she has and try to be more prepared next time. :) Her previous owner never let her raise chicks.

Yep thats what I think will happen. When he molts, he should lose the sunburn and get brighter blue feathers.
