I haven't been on this thread in a long time soooo, hello again ppl!

Just wanted to share an adorable little thing with EVERYONE! >8)

This is Artemis, (my husband wanted to name it.

) our very first home grown chick here with its mama Foxy.
Even though I have been helping Foxy as much as I can in keeping the other girls away and off her nest and
making sure the eggs are still under her at night before bed, she has been having a lot of bad luck with her first
brood. I let her keep 4 eggs but I think 2 of them are dead while the last one, while I was gone on Saturday, I
think one of the other girls got on her nest and kicked that egg off the nest. It was very cold on Saturday and
raining and when I picked the egg up it was ice cold. I figured it probably froze to death but stuffed it back under
her anyway. Last night to my surprise I saw a pip in it so we MIGHT end up with one more some time this morning
if all goes well! <3






Would I be correct in saying this is a Blue chick? All my birds are GL, SL and Splash.

BTW I just want to say THANKS to whoever it was on this thread that suggested Towels
as a nest box option vs sawdust and other crap. I just wash them once a week and they
get nice clean egg spots! No dust, no mites, no problem ^_^.

My little Mottled Bantam. The only one to make through a hatch, the worst ratio I've ever had. Little one has 2 mirrors and is for now in a tub within our bath tub to get lost of attention during the day. Little bit and I have together time when I can, instead of burrowing up under Mama's feathers it has my hair to snuggle up and go to sleep in lol. Little bit loves to snuggle up in my hand under my chin. There are cousins coming from someone but not for a couple of weeks. Until then I'll keep the lovin flowing.

Here it is! It hatched at about 8:00am this morning. I just happened to go out to check on them
RIGHT when it was hatching! I got it on video and was going to stick it on here for you guys BUT
the comp said no so you just get the pic of it being soggy .

My husband named the new one Apollo. Little Gold Laced baby <3

Anyone know what color that gray one is? I was thinking Blue but I'm not sure.
