Cochin Thread!!!

Bit o poultry she is beautiful! I love the colour. Happy accident

Thank you so much! She's too beautiful to get rid of I couldn't help it! She has an older sister who is just breathtaking I had to sell her because I had no space but now I do! I will ask the wonderful lady who purchased her for pics soon! I hope she's begun to lay. My pullet should be laying in about 2-3 more months!

Mom, she recently escaped into the Cochin pen(again) she was probably there for about 30mins but I'm not sure if he stepped on her. If he did or didn't I know I'll get some beauties out of the little lady!

Well I see why she keeps breaking into the Cochin pen...Big Blue is a handsome fella lol. I just got 6 blue Cochin chicks-had never even laid eyes on a Cochin prior to bringing my cuties home. Now I'm a little scared of how huge they seem to get!

Not all that huge, mostly fluffy feathers. Think how a fluffy long hair cat is if you pick it up, these birds same thing. Your hand sinks in the feathers until you feel the body on them. my rooster looks 20 lbs but is only around 5lb.

Lol they aren't that big but are some HEAVY little suckers, I don't know the approximate weight of my hens and roo but my hens feel heavier than my roo for some reason! :gig lol this is the 3rd time within 2 months that she's escaped! I love all my little gal! She's much bigger than my pure Cochins and orps!

Another beautiful colour! Here's a few pics of mine :) of course you can never get them all into one picture lol. The barred guy is a surprise but I'm loving his look lol. He just makes me laugh looking at him. They are 5 weeks old today. Thinking I just have the one roo so I struck it lucky. So long as he gets along with my tiny bantam old English roo then he gets to stay.
