He is a partridge Cochin. I have a trio.
In the partridge color the hens are very different than the roos. The are brown with lacing on all their feathers. Both roos and hens are very beautiful.
I was going to sell my trio because I am working on Mille Fleur Cochin and Lavender Cochin projects. But the Partridge roo and hens are so pretty...... If I can find another pen..........
I love all my cochins, so fluffy and sweet.

For those living in the north, do your cochins stop laying for the winter? Mine stopped laying about 2 weeks ago. Someone on the egg laying section suggested they were molting. THEY'RE NOT MOLTING. I'm assuming it's just the normal stopped laying for the winter, but I wanted to ask anyway. My hybrid layers are still going strong though

Do you have lights on in their coop? Days are getting shorter and I keep a light on for mine from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. My cochin hens are laying like crazy and one has been broody for three weeks and another just went broody yesterday. They are collecting their own eggs as well as some from my full-sized NH hens! We'll see if any start hatching from Princess - should be about Sunday if they are going to hatch! I am in NW Ohio.
