Good luck with the last of them!Oh, I have one last pip, and one just hatched a couple hours ago, and 3 eggs that never pipped. I pulled the hatched chick and checked to make sure the pipped one was still alive. It is. Grabbed the other 3 eggs, candled, tapped on the shells and all 3 peeped back at me!![]()
So I put them back in. Might have to consider air holes if the don't pip soon.
Good luck with the last of them!
I did a safety hole in one egg, but not in the other 2. Got up this morning and that one hatched! The other 2, I'm pretty sure are gone, but that's ok. I got a bunch of cute babies!

I checked our eggs, pretty sure 2 of them are gone. Saw movement in the other, made a safety hole and it looked Shrink wrapped. The membrane was white and thick looking. I moistened the membrane and gently made a hole to get the beak out. It still has some major blood vessels and yolk so I've been checking on it every few hours. It's starting to peep stronger every time I do so I have hope for it. Just waiting.
Your late hatching chicks may be the ones you set later in the incubator.
Some Cochin eggs can be slower to hatch. I've had a few late hatchers with each load in the incubator...I don't clear to incubator until day 23.
I set all 6 eggs on the same day. 2 were clear. I had humidity at 60-63 for lockdown maybe it needed to be higher? The chick is making stronger sounds by the hour. How will I know when it's ready to "hatch" I know to look for veins which are getting smaller every time I check but what about the yolk? I don't want to help it out and have the yolk still out. How long does that process usually take?
