Do white LF Cochins grown in their first feathers darker? I have a chick that has multiple colors of feathered growing in and I’m trying to figure out what color she is!

She also has some white feathers (hard to se in the pic) and some black spotting. Will that be lost as she grows?

Sometimes buffs have black and white spots as adults. Sometimes with chicks the first colors you are seeing aren't the final coloring. Rhode island red chicks start out with barring on their wings but lose then. Chicks go through multiple molts as they grow. Yours looks buff to me.

I have some Blue and Black LF Cochins. Got a Splash Roo I'm picking up as well just to get me better chances of pretty splash chicks! I've always been a sucker for Cochin's and have a few other colours on order for this summer to give a bit more fluffy variety. Once tried to venture into GL Cochins but I had an owl appear that winter and it seemed to like them the best

Facebook is also a giant chicken enabler and ended up hooking me into 4 Bantam Calico Cochin chicks so they're currently chilling out in the house until the weather warms up.

Took some photos while they were out and about today. Not that they're very cooperative models most days They're enjoying all the yummy tidbits that are melting and appearing though. Happy chicken noises everywhere!
