If you're on dial-up, you might try uploading directly to the BYC host rather than using photobucket. I think it's a lot easier, and BYC gives you lots of room to store pics. Right now, you still have to upload one pic at a time to BYC, but it goes pretty fast.

Not for my Browser. It freezes up when I use BYC to upload. I'm pretty frustrated with the whole thing.

Photobucket works better for me, but my browser is convinced it doesn't exist.

No offense here, but as I've been focusing on the mottleds for the last couple years I had to just sell everything and start over with better birds. When you have the undermarked or blotchy birds it is just too hard to breed that out when you can get ones that are closer to the standard to work with. If youre really serious about doing this I would recommend evaluating your stock and seeing what direction you need to move in.

My focus is not only on color, but on having the correct feathering and body as well. I've been looking at other breeder's mottleds and I'm not too impressed with the bodies or the fluff and tail. My pullet has pretty good fluffy body already and she's only 8 months old.

Money is also an issue for me. I am starting with stock I could afford to purchase. they aren't the best, but I am comfortable with them for now. Some day I'll have the money to start over with better stock, but for now I'll stick with what I have.

With the right ammount of time and patients any line can become the creme of the crop. It will just take me a few years.

I'll be going to the Northwest National show in Stevenson Washington in april. There may be some good birds for sale there. It's a pretty big show and my favorite breeder will be there.

Yes you do want to make sure your type is there first and you are right if you have the time and patience you can do great things. I understand the money thing too. I know we all cant buy the best birds. If you have the type there the color shouldnt be as hard to work with. I have neither the room or patience here to work with something for a long time lol. Best of luck on your program and maybe you'll find some good fall deals to help you out

not too many fall deals around here. I can talk to my local breeder friend and see if he has any extra roos that aren't as closely related. He also breeds frizzles which are my second love.

Blue Mottled Frizzles that acually have the fluff and the markings.

Now that would be somethingfor me.

i have to admitt I am partial to the white birds, though.
