Those Silver Laced were very nice! What are you breeding in to improve type and color may I ask. Or are is it just the best Silver Laced Cochins you have paired together.

I still have a few cage birds, i have about completly got out of them so i have more time to work with the poultry.

I have 2 pair of SL bantams that I have just started with. It is definitely going to take some time and creative breeding to get them up to snuff. I am thinking it will be years before I can get what I want from them but meantime they are pretty to look at and very nice to deal with.
It would be nice to find some quality SL birds like these.

I'm still looking for a mottled roo if anyone has one. I am going to the NEBC show this sunday maybe I can find some good cochins there to add to my flock

I'm not breeding any longer either. I have just two pairs of breeders and I have one of those up for sale. Then I have my pet parrots, mostly macaws.
I'm concentrating more on my poultry as well. Funny how we met up here. What are you all of 18? 19 now? LOL

The cochin breed seems to be the closest/best I can find for a dedicated brooder/mother and foster mother for my main flock of chickens. Question is: I reside right on the coast of the Pacific NW and it rains for about six months, then there is a two week pause, then another six months of rain. Well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea. Oh; and the high winds, especially the 75+mph gusts during storms, are a concern as well. Our chickens freerange and do just fine... but what about the Cochins???
a moma cochin will just sit tight on the nest if you give her a high and dry area!
