Clare, it only hurts until you have a new batch of fluffy butt chicklets running around (if not sooner)!!

I have a 6 day old GLC and another one hatched this morning. Hopefully, that will shut the little singleton up. It is NOT happy about being alone.

One of my new LF black pullets from Tom was making herself a nest yesterday! The blacks are just amazingly beautiful! It will be great if we can get the GLCs that round and fluffy.

I can't remember - are you working with Bantam or LF GLC's?

I found the best company for a lone chicklet is a little stuffed animal - they love to curl up in them - really quiets them down.

LF GLCs, sorry. I know you're a bantam fan.

Just think how much more fluff there is to love.

Mine get one of DH's clean tube socks, doubled and if the power goes out I shove a few of those dry chemical handwarmers in the sock to keep them warm at least long enough for me to go kick start the generator...

Here's my Silver Blue Birchen roo. Please excuse the background, I had to take him into my husbands garage because its about 3 degrees outside with the wind chill and I was freezinggggggggggggg!!

Of course, he's out of his element and he wants to see what everything is around him and he won't stand still so I can take a really good picture of him, the little stinker!

If it warms up any, I'll get him in his run/coop area where he's more natural and not looking all over. He really is nice and I've been getting alot of compliments on him from some local chicken people.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I like your roo. Do you have any hens to go with him?

NO! UGH! I have a gorgeous normal Birchen roo and a frizzled, who are both a bit older than this guy and filled out more. I don't have hens for any of them. I'm actively looking.
