When I got my chicks I got one of every color (bantams), my buffs were the most shy too! My blues were/ are the most sweet. I have one lavender and one regular blue and they are the same temperament. Yours make me want babies! Lucky girl!
I am completely new to chickens and cochins. I have a few questions about some that I have-
1.What color are these guys? The girl who gave to me said they are silver penciled.
Roo#1
Roo#2
Pullet?
2. What sex are these and what color?
3. What sex are these blues? I have a feeling they are all roos?
looks like you have one blue pullet and 2 cockerels there. the others i can't see their combs and wattles too well but i'm thinking pullets.
I am praying for at least one pullet of each color. Sometimes I look at them and think I have all roos and want to cry, lol. I have 3 or 4 reds that certainly are roos.
To Bluff Country Shepherdess, the mille fluer bantam cochins are just beautiful.
And the egg art is the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Have been battling RA pain the last few days and laughing at the egg art made my day.
Thanks for that.

I just saw this thread and was wondering if anyone can tell me if cochins are early or late egg layers? I got this beauty a few weeks ago along with three other girls, all different breeds. The other three are laying now but she isn't. I don't know much about cochins, just that she is beautiful and so different from my other chickens. Kind of regal in her behaviour!
I thought the girl I got them from said she was a blue cochin but now I think she must have said black cochin.
She has an emerald green tint to her feathers in the sunlight!
