a real keeper. Did she come from your stock? A feed store? Shipped eggs you hatched? Very pleasing to look at but what are your goals for her since your looking for opinions? That can be the defining factor in many cases.

Just wondering what y'all think of this guy. He will be my very first frizzle, and I know nothing about them (though I've seen some gorgeous frizzles here on BYC). I'm picking up him and his brother this weekend. I think he's a good looking guy, and I mainly keep my flock for my own enjoyment. I also need to think of a good name for him and his brother, any suggestions? Here they are, they are LF.

Oh, Janelle! They are lovely! That blue Mottled girl really stands out with all those black Mottleds. Her sister growing up is very light like that, too. I think she will be a great addition to my Frizzle pen.
And I think you found a nice level spot in your yard that isn't in the front!

I have a young Mottled fella that thinks he is all that, too.

Always one in the bunch that has to give attitude. Cute when they are young but I break that nonsense as soon as I can. I love to see them puff up that chest and act like they are something special but then have too many problems later with them so I put them on their back when they do that to me now. After laughing a bit first, though!

I love your flock and will be bugging you for eggs soon.

I'm getting 3 new mottled hens next weekend (2 black, 1 blue) and some more mottled chicks. I am hoping to be able to split the flock into a "show group" and a "breeding group" (who will get a major butt trim). I believe I will also try to get a new pair from Judy Gantt this fall.......MAYBE. LOL.

If I could ever get consistently fertile eggs, I would send you some! If I can get some chicks hatching with a breeding group, I will have to meet you at a NC or SC guinea pig/rabbit show, and we can do a swap!

Sent you a PM!

And yes, I would love to pick up some chicks at one of the rabbit/Guinea Pig shows. I have taken chickens to plenty of shows either for the raffle or to send home with a person that wanted some. That was for my white Cochins though. I'll have to beat off my friends if they see Mottled chicks though!

I thought you might like to see the chicks I got last month, they are 3 mths now, they are not well bred but very interesting I think. Mom is black frizzel Cochin bantam, Dad is Red black(?) cochin bantam. I had to take a pair so I chose these, first Clara I get a big kick out of her crazy coloring

I think their color is very unusal plus they cost me $20,000.00 !!

I put them in the pen with the other cochins and all was fine for a while then the war began and I steped in to help them out, and tripped, broke my left wrist in 4 places, had to have surgery, and this is the total so far !!!
PS I was holding Clara in my left hand when I fell. I knew I was fallling so I threw her way from me so I would not fall on her, she has not forgiven me yet, she may never...
