Oh well, Thank you very much for taking the time to answer. I guess I'll have to try and find a UK site as we currently live in England.

Wow, lucky you! You can actually own their gorgeous birds. Hope you stay with the thread and give us a picture show from time to time.

That is very kind of you. I only have three Pekins in my small flock; one cuckoo and two creole - one of the creole is a roo and I am stumped on the gender of the cuckoo. I love looking at everyone elses chickens. They are all so beautiful!

I was so happy when I sold 9 young birds two weeks ago but the next day 2 chicks hatched under my hens. After 5 more hatches that week my flock is almost as the pre-sale total! I hate to take eggs from under my girls. I have an incubator but don't even need it.

I think broodies do a great job also, maybe better than the incubator, but I don't care for the dispositions that they end up with. I can never get broodie raised kids to settle down as well as the incubated chicks. Plus, I worry about the girls if they set too long, mine get too light, even with food and water in with them.

I am looking for quality, standard bantam cochin eggs. I have a couple girls that are desperate to sit and my 4-H sons want cochins. I noticed that there are very few eggs for sale on here. We are looking for partridge, lemon blue, mottled, mille fleur or blue. I would love to have 12+ eggs in a variety of colors. I would like to have birds that have proven lineage. Any help would be appreciated.

Missy

Cochin Coop has birds in a couple of colors you are looking for, but I don't know about eggs. I'm guessing you would be hard pressed to get all those colors from one breeder - too diverse. The reason for few eggs for sale is the temperature - still too hot to ship. You DO want bantams, right? You said "standard bantam." Standards would be the big-uns.
