shoot!!! i looked at her eye today and your right it did have crustys on it, i wipped them off but she still squints her eyes. her eye is clear thoe. what should i do for it, their a birthday present for my friend next week

Try saline solution eye drops, if that doesn't help use a non-medicated eye ointment.
Also, just for safety's sake, listen to her breathing........if she rattles in the sinus area you may need to give her an antibiotic for an upper respiratory infection, something like Tylan. If she rattles more down in the chest use Amoxicillin maybe Baytril. I've used Baytril and it's very powerful, so be careful and don't over medicate or use it too often. Also, look to see if the crusty stuff is in one eye or both. If it's one eye, I'd use Baytril. This is just what I do and I'm not a vet, but I've had to learn because the vets around here won't treat poultry. Since you just got them, the stress of moving can lower their resistance to infection, so this could be why she's "off" a bit. If she doesn't show some improvement quickly (24 hrs) either see if you can find a vet that will treat your birds (seriously and honestly) or go to the emergency section on BYC and enter your symptoms and ask them on there. There are some VERY knowledgeable folks on here.
Good luck and I hope it's just an eye irritaition from dust or something.

well i talked to my vet today and she said she'll give me drops for free because we r in the same 4h group toghther and she also has chickens

Well, personally I'd like to see your rooster posed in front of some things that gives me an idea of his size, something like a car, that would be easy to relate him to. If we can't determine whether he is a standard or a bantam it is hard to give you accurate feedback. Your said you got him from the folks that you gave us the link to, they only have bantams according to the web site. If he truly is a standard, then I'd say you've got a very nice starter bird for a Brown-Red project. I wasn't joking when I told you there are no Brown-Red standard Cochins and there is only one, maybe two breeders that are working on them. So, like I said IF he is a standard, he's very nice............as a starter bird.
If he is a bantam I am sorry to tell you that as a show bird, he would not stand up to the competition.
And I must be really slow today, because I still don't understand what you're saying with, "and trying to get my other birds on here." Spell it out for me or someone else please explain it for me so that I get it.
edited for spelling and grammar of course.
