Cochin Thread!!!

There's also the shorter stature that I'm seeing. The fence panelling looks to be a 2' panel? Maybe from the ground to the top of the hardware cloth.

Is it possible he is a bantam/LF mix, which would give the, excuse my terminology, flatter face? There's also the possibility that the original parents were hatchery birds which also lack the heavy brows and larger head of their show counterparts.

Unless your picture is of a project bird that a well know breeder has bred, it is not a Brown-Red. I can tell with almost 100% certainty that there are no standard Brown-Red Cochins in production.

I'm not trying to be hurtful, but look at your bird and the pictures of theirs. They don't look like the same birds, I can see where the color is coming from but there is clearly something else going on there.
You're right, they do have VERY nice birds and if they sold you this guy as a pure Cochin, I would go back and ask about it. It could be an innocent mistake.
