Thanks Amy. I hear ya I'm finding that not too many people show them up my way either. It's hard to get a good read when there is no one to go up against

I surely hope that changes on Saturday. I pray someone brings some blues up to NE Congress. This way I can see if they are great or just Good. I show more for feedback than winning. I like to get a judges eye as to who he favors more than the other and that way it helps me decide who goes with who

Hi Cochin Peeps!!!

I broke out the camera on Saturday before catching the darn cold/virus I got Late Saturday night. I even took a video and posted it on youtube! I tried to make it cute with a special video effect. It came out okay and I will probably reflect on it to see how my youngins progressed over the months.

Here's some quick pic's

Sorry so pic heavy but, I wanted to share with you all b/c I know you all enjoy your cochins as much as I do

Beautiful! Thank you for the pics.

Amy, thank you for the compliment. I love it when they get more white in them. I felt the same about the blue birds until I hatched some and watched them grow up. Now I've decided to work on blue mottled. And of course black mottled and MFC. Thanks again I really value your opinion.

Charlie,
she is just gorgeous! I am so glad you like her and the others. I have not concentrated on the white tips as much as others that show but I have started another new pen this year and can't wiat to see offspring from it as I added 2 blue Mottled girls along with some black Mottled girls.
I know these lines carry blue Mottled and they poop out every now and again. I personally am not a blue lover but they sell like mad and I amazed at how hard it is to keep any. I have the two blue Mottled girls mainly for my Frizzle project but right now want to see what they do with Ranger, my new, too dark Mottled roo.
As always, type comes first for me, then color.

Thank you so much for sharing, Charlie! I always love to see how my babies grow up. There are a few on this thread that have some from my breeding pen of Mottleds and I really enjoy everyone sharing the photos of the "family". Maybe Ranger will carry on the legacy, too.

Lynne, thank you very much for the compliment. It means alot coming from you. I wish you the best of luck with your mottled babies. I agree Amy has some beautiful cochins. And they seem to have the sweetest personalities. They are my favorites.

Looking to downsize my mottled flock. Will have a blue mottled pair plus black mottled hens/pullets for sale soon. Would prefer to sell as flock. Pick up only, but often travel to rabbit shows out of state and can transport (with prepayment via paypal). Will be going to NC January 21st, and may be going to PA February 3rd,

I doubt I do more than just have good birds and for me that is enought. The birds that have won in the past at this show were in just perfect condition and I know mine are just good representations of their varieties. I find that the people you get to talk to and share information with are the best part of a show. We all enjoy poultry.
