Cochin Thread!!!

I also got a couple pics of my new blue/splash pair... but they just move too fast out in the yard! LOL
the roo ended up having a 'pedicure' of sorts... he'd picked up a huge ball of burdocks and essentially hog tied himself. both feet were practically glued together with the burrs...
I ended up having to cut off his foot feathering somewhat.


and splash, like white, just won't stay clean! then again i found her under the flipped over water pan, happily splashing thru the mud she'd made.

OMG OMG OMG I just got my beautiful beautiful Blue and Splash Cochins and drumroll please.................they are BANTAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO

They are so TINY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They can't even reach my feeders! I wanted Standards!!!! I don't know what to do, They are beautiful but sooooooooooo tiny!!

Well thank you and thankfully the breeder is letting me send them back. But now I am not getting my blues until next fall

my last 2 orders of chicks didn't get here for 5 days from shipping and none were left alive.

They are adults not chicks. But I am worried about the stress still. But I do have to say these Bantams seemed to have dealt with shipping far better than any other standard adult that I have gotten through the mail.

oh! that isn't so bad then... adults can handle a couple days like that easily. just make sure they've had plenty food and water before you box them back up...
