Cochin Thread!!!

I have a couple little blues going through an awkward jurassic phase.

Standards are so funny and big boned!

Looks like they have vulture hawks, which is a DQ... Where did you get them from? I love their coloring though!

Way too young to say they have VH's. LF just look that way at that age.

I have actually had a certified judge check my Cochins for vulture hawks at that age, so I'm pretty sure you can tell at that age...

I won't be showing them lol. What are vulture hocks anyway? I got them from Big R, I think they go through cackle hatchery. I couldn't resist a bin full of blue cochins! I think I have a roo and a pullet. What do you think?

If you cull for VHs at that age you won't have much left.

Also I don't have a four legged Cochin..... that is a silver laced wyandotte coop mate. What color of blues would you all say they are? They started out one very dark gray and the other baby blue with faint yellow around its neck. Also I googled vulture hocks and I don't think thats what they have. I have a black bantam cochin that looked that way at that age also, he is from a different hatchery, and he doesnt look like that anymore. Maybe it's just an age thing?

I have a couple of bantam cochins that I love! They are kittens. I hope these guys are as friendly. They are a bit shy still.
