Cochin Thread!!!

We've got broodies & babies right now. 2 of the cochins are brooding chicks and one more is brooding eggs, she's our cross beaked girl though so we're hoping she decides to be a career broody so we don't have to worry about getting many cross beaked babies.

This girl has mainly cochin chicks but also has a couple polish from some eggs my mother wanted hatched.




We're hoping the frizzled chick is full cochin, the papa of the other two was our frizzled EE(but we also have a frizzle cochin boy)

Thank you, I've always loved the partridge pattern and the few girls we kept are pretty striking in the little flock.

My poor girl, she has been through a lot this year. Attacked by two dogs and raised two broods. She is just now about have all her feathers back from the last attack. The dogs just see her as a fluffy toy. :/ She also has a show to attend to in the middle of October.

I have a question its kind of gross but my new Cochin's I just got this week keeps eating there droppings ever since i first got them. They eat the chicken food and a lot of it but when i try to give them greens and green beans and blueberries and bread or bell peppers or cucumber etc they don't want to eat that really they turn right around and eat the droppings. Which none of are other chickens do I don't know why they are doing this or how to get them to stop.

Does anyone know why they are doing this or how to stop it.

PS: I don't give them all of that at once they may get one thing and another day they may get something else.

Thanks! She has been really stressed out lately. She hasn't laid a single egg since she got last attacked. Since July.
