This is a chick that is 3-4weeks old and I am pretty sure it's a buff cochin (it was supposed to be a malay game). Not sure of sex but inclined to think male. Despite a crazy mum it's starting to show a pretty lovely temperament.

Very difficult to tell at this point. It does look like the feathers are coming in buff and are soft. If it has feathered feet that's another tell tale sign, but even with that it could still be a number of other breeds/varieties. As is usually the case, time will tell.

I am fairly sure of the breed because that's the only buff + feathered feet combo that breeder has but yeah ns about the sex. I am finding it weird that it seems to be feathering much slower than other chicks of the same age (although I find it very funny that its body prioritised feathering the feet before anything else). As lilcrow said, time will tell.

Happy New Year everyone.

Just reporting on my awesome Cochin egg layers. Its been awhile and last time I think I was here
I was still waiting on eggs. Happy to report that all three of my girls are now laying pretty much
an egg every day. They are awesome layers!! It was worth the wait for sure :)
