If I remember, I'll try to go measure my Cochin tomorrow.

Okay Sylviaane, My standard Cochin -6 months old stands approximately 12 1/2 inches tall straight up, and down from the centerof her body straight up from her feet. From the center of her bushy tail, to the center of her chest is 18 inches.

I will get better pics.

I decided not to buy baby Cochins and now I am looking for young adult Cochin hens somewhere near me in Missouri, south of Springfield. I really wouldn't like to travel 3 hours to get them and I don't want show birds so I don't want to pay more than $15 a bird and less would be welcome.

Anyone have any they will release?

Forgot to say, I am looking for 3 hens at the $15 price. I can buy more if the price is lower.

Geez, I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached. I don't want bantams. Large fowl/standards or possibly Giants if I can get them for $15.

Call your local county extension office. They may know who you can contact in your area, or have info on local poultry exhibitions.

Local feed stores, and places like Stockdales, and Tractor Supply bring a variety of chicks in in the Spring. Some business will order them for you.

You can also do a Google search for breeders in your area.

I ordered mine from Murry McMurry, and I couldn't be happier. The birds I received are top notch. There is a minimum order though, and you have to pay for shipping, but if you want a large quantity of birds, or have others to go in on an order with you, then from my experience that's a great place to order from.

I think there is a section here in BYB where you can sell, trade, or order eggs to incubate.
