Cochin Thread!!!

I have a pen 8' x 4' with a run 12' long (4' of the runs under the house. The whole thing can be opened up for multiple options. It can be three separated pens, 2 pens or 1 large pen.

Thank you for the Idea. I get pallet sized squares of plywood and 10' long 2x3s from my job so I am toying around with different ideas. Last week I build one that was basically 4'x8' with half being enclosed with a heat lamp inside, and the other end being and outdoor run. This is my outdoor brooder pen to acclimate my older chicks to going from the house brooders to being outside.

Question Please anyone who incubates! How the heck do you see when candle g dark shelled or thick shelled eggs? I can see fine on the lighter brown eggs from the Bantams but those LF eggs nope! Any ideas please. Eggs should start to hatch week of April 11, 18 in all.

It's kind of hard to see on my dark shelled eggs, but you have to have a trained eye. I can see the veins but I can't really see the embryo move

I'm finally a Cochin owner again, yay! I received a hatchery order this morning, and the LF Cochins are definitely my favorites. I got blue, splash and barred. Here's an adorable picture I snapped after getting them all settled in. Looks like they needed a little comfort after their long trip.
