Cochin Thread!!!

i have officially begun my blue mottled project today, i have moved my mottled hens to the bootom locker and i have my blue/ splash trio on the top, i will alternate the cock from each pen daily so that way i can still get my pure blue and splash chicks

heres the locker, cock is currently with the mottled girls downstairs

here are some mottled chicks, within those 20 chicks, there are two pure black chicks that are a result of my mottled lavender project!

heres a pair of mottled youngsters that are showing alot of white, i know they are too young to tell if they will have good mottling, but im hoping they will

I am definatly thinking about starting up a golden laced cochin project... but i only have 2 chicks that are a mix with buff and partridge cochins and i was told that was a link to breeding golden laced am i right? I am hoping once these chicks mature they will look really nice as i plan to keep at least one no matter what. I will have to post recent pics later.

This thread sort of petered out, and I was so enjoying browsing through the pictures of everyone's beautiful Cochins, so I decided to post another pic of my little 5-month-old boys out in the snow yesterday. Enjoy!

Edited to add: After they were out in the snow yesterday, my neighbor visited and swore there were bear tracks in the yard. I went over and looked at the strange tracks and had to tell him, "Those aren't bear tracks - those are from my feather-footed chickens!"
