Cochin Thread!!!

LF cochin question... they're supposed to have yellow legs and feet, right?

I'm Fairly new to the chicken thing, it has been great following this thread and seeing peoples cochins. I have bantam cochins the colors i have are 2 Birchen Pullets, 1 Golden Lace Pullet, 1 Partridge Pullet, 1 Black Pullet(with a little gold on her neck), I had Pair of reds but i had to sell the rooster and my pullet died last fall. I will have to get out and get some good pictures of them and post them on here one of these days.

Correct, yellow legs and feet. With Black Cochins, the standard reads yellow to dusky yellow. Bottoms of feet should be yellow as well.

OK thank you... this confirms my "pure" cochins are actually mixes!!!

I'm thinking with silkie since one of the two girls has 5 toes on each foot.

They both have slate/blue-ish legs.

However no crest nor muff nor beard, they look like cochins except for feet and leg color.

How weird is that?

This is the girl who has 5 toes on each foot... blue/slate legs... silkie x cochin cross? Or mostly cochin with some silkie ancestor in the background?

My other cochin is in the background to the right... blue/slate legs but normal amount of toes on each foot...

could just be poorly bred, i have supposedy pure cochins with black feet
