I have the 2006 ABA Bantam Standard (color version). (Probably should think about getting a newer version.)

And

I have a 1966 APA Standard of Perfection - Hey . . . its a classic!!! It's actually the 1966 Printing (5th edition) of the 1953 Edition!

I was given this young guy by a city chicken-keeper who needed him to get out of city limits in a hurry. I said I'd find him a new home, but actually I really like him. I'm considering finding him some hens to keep him company. All I know is he's bantam, obviously cochin. I guess he might be birchin? His name is Albert

I'll have to get individual pictures of my little Columbians one of these days and have you critique them, Tom. Then you can send me the birds that can best improve them.

I think I have 2 decent pullets (I have one pullet hatched from the same batch of eggs with NO black on her though - she has dark gray down feathers, but not a hint of black in her hackles!), and I have one younger cockerel that's really started to look nice the past few weeks. For what I paid for all the eggs, 3 decent birds out of 10 isn't bad at all!

I found a local breeder looking to sell a gorgeous trio of Blue Mottled Bantams - he's been working with mostly Jamie Matts birds! I'm negotiating with him about picking them up next week!

These are my new babies. I think they're beautiful, although "Calico" doesn't seem to be a desired color pattern (I have no idea why!).
Sammy just started to crow and it's the cutest thing ever!!!
So, if Sammy and his girls have babies, what do you think I'll get? More calicos?
Just curious as they're only pets.

Serendipityfarm, they are beautiful! Don't know why calico wouldn't be desired. My chickens are just pets too, so the more colorful they are the more fun they are to have around for eye candy!

serendipityfarm - Calico is a desired color pattern for lots of people - I know there's someone in Minnesota who's devoting an entire breeding project to them - she even sold off all her Mille Fleur project birds to make space! You have a real gem there!

Look what I got! Look what I got! They're mine! A new Blue Mottled trio! Whaddya think?

The guy who sold them to me got these birds from Keith LeGrande, who got his Mottleds from Jamie Matts. Apparently, they're molting right now, but they still look gorgeous.

I already have them named: the hens are "Dottie" and "Daphne", and the roo is "Dingle". I'm sooo excited about these guys!

I think you should continue the great tradition that has now been passed on to you. From Jamie to Keith to Tom to Annarie to . . . Gail.

Those are beautiful birds! Molting? Can't wait to see them later on!
Congratulations!

And I guess I'm thinking that the calicos have "too much white" for the people working on MF's if I understand correctly. I sure love them, and can see why someone would want to work on developing it as it's own color!

serendipityfarm - I think you'd enjoy this link: http://bluffcountryshetlandsandbackyardchickens.webs.com/apps/photos/

Coopa Cabana - I edited it because I realize it wasn't clear - I didn't get the Blue Mottleds from Tom, I got them from a local breeder who mentioned that he's talked to Tom on the phone this summer and is buying some White Bantams from him this fall.

And no, you can't have them!
