I have both Brown Reds and Lemon Blues(Brown Red based) but they have been stingy with their eggs, maybe when it cools down some they will lay better.

I have a blue cochin hen and a black cochin roo that I'm hoping will reproduce in great numbers. These birds are the greatest parents to my baby turkeys. Even the roo will cover up the babies with his feathers, lets them sleep on his back and when they're afraid it's his legs they run to. I'm thinking I may get a few more blues or lavenders to add to my new cochin flock but I really love these birds.

I am breeding my Lavenders to Black because their type needs to be greatly improved.

Ok i have some black to, one is a frizzle hen and my lavender is a cockerel, so i pair him with my black frizzle hen. thanks a bunch, i figured that but wanted another opion.

Nice pair and what good parents. I cannot wait till next spring after a move to get my cochin flock restarted. They are extraordinary birds with such nice temperments and parenting skills.

Steve,
I think your birds are really beautiful and would love to add some to my small flock. Please keep me in mind if and when yours start laying again. (Or if you have a hen that needs a good home).
Thanks,
Robert

Here is the result of breeding our black splits back together and I will be breeding him back to black again. This one showed major improvement compared to what we had.
