Hmmm . . . I haven't had this problem (to my knowledge). Is she on a commercial layer feed as her diet staple? I'm thinking she may need more calcium. Are the shells normal, or are they softer than normal?

She is on layer feed and free-choice oyster shells, and the eggshells are normal. There is just a lot of wetness on the outside of the shell that dries and sticks the egg to her feathers.
Found another egg on the floor today. I'm sure it's not life threatening, just curious if anyone else had experienced this.

You might can trim just a little bit of that extra fluff where the eggs are sticking, as long as you are not going to show her.

Hi! Honestly, if you want Mottleds based on the Standard, I would not keep any of them. They are not Mottleds. They look like maybe crosses between Silver Birchen and Silver Laced. This is a link to the Mottled Breed Page - it shows what Mottleds should look like. They are solid black, with white spangling or diamonds on all the feather tips.

If you want to keep just one as a pretty, pet quality black & white Cochin, I would first eliminate the one showing red - you don't want any red on a black and white bird. Out of the remaining two, I would then keep the best typed - the rounder the better - like a volleyball or basketball.

It's hard to see the combs in the pics. Cochin combs should be medium sized - not too big, not too small; 4 - 6 points; not wavy or lopsided; no side sprigs or offshoots. If you scroll back thru a few pages on this thread, you should see some good examples.
