Kim,

They are lovely but I "think" you have something more going on there than Brown Red. You will have to ask someone with more knowledge in the color than I have. My LF Brown Red hen doesn't have as much color in her hackle feathers as I would like but I am hoping that crossed back to her son in the Spring it will produce a stronger pattern in the chicks.

I am soooo wanting some brown reds after seeing all these!!!! Does anyone have eggs to sell? Really lovely birds. If I can't get any for my back yard, at least I can drool from a far.

Here is Sydney my 3 month old blue girl...

Thanks Lynne. I have no idea what they are. Never really thought about it until I saw the pictures people were posting here of BRs. As you may be able to see in the last picture, I have been using these girls in my MF program. I actually sold two of them and only have the one ( with the most red ) left. She is still in with my MF rooster for now but I am not sure what my long term goal with her is. The only other non MF roosters I have left at this point are my Blue Birchen, my Funky Blue Barred ( that I posted on the crele project topic ), and a new guy I just picked up. He is suppose to be bantam but he is HUGE. He is about midway between bantam and LF. He was sold to me as partridge but who knows. I will have to post pictures of him later. I purchased him to try my luck at LF MF's.

Lynne - did you get the email I sent you yesterday??

I dont know either thus why I havent started one yet... LOL but im thinking you have to have a bird that already has the chocolate gene so I think that means you would have to bring in an outside breed to start it.

Color Interpretation, please....
These babies are 3-4 months old.
Nymphadora is a black pullet.... that much I know.
Hermione is a mottled. She is camera shy, and a couple weeks younger.
Severus Snape has a gold laced neck.
Serius Black has red in his neck.
Sam the Sebright posed nicely, she is an elderly hen. Bought from the Ohio Nat few years ago, she no longer lays, so this is her retirement home.
All 4 cochins together. I also have 2 extra cockerels, one of each colorway.
