Hi Fattie!

I've been sick with "the flu" so I had to scroll bck to find the pics

I do agree that the roo is "long", has a bit of off color and I sure don't like his comb.

But on the positive side, he's loaded with foot feathers!

So give him a good bath, trim his comb feathers, toenails and maybe his beak a bit and go bravely to the show.

I bet there will be birds there that have more faults than him.

As they say, it depends on the other birds entered and the judge.

Good Luck!!!!

I know a lot of people trim those short, stiff feathers that run right along side of the combs.

Here's some great articles on showing, including interviews with the judges, from Simon Gambling's "Pekin Bantams" website in the UK:

I know you're going to have a great time at the show!!

I think I like the Blue Hen and Mottled Roo the best. How old is the Mottled Roo? He looks to have decent type ~ is he still young enough to expect more mottling?

the
black hen -- 7/8 mo old
blue hen -- 6/7 mo old
mottled hen 9 mo old
mottled roo --6/7 ( has no spurs )
splash roo -- 7/8 mo old

so still lots of time to grow lol and the hens r a little beat up from each other they love to fight lol

cochin123--I totally agree with Coopa Cabana the blue hen & black mottled roo are standouts! They both are on the right track for good body type. The splash roo is not shabby either for his color variety....splash aren't nearly as far along in cochin type as black/blue/whites. Fattie can use him as a gauge for her splash project. I give kudos to any who are brave enough to show....
