I haven't gotten around to putting Frizzles with my Mottleds but I am about to put some with one of my silver laced roos. Too cute!

Thanks, I think she's just precious...I'm hoping if I say "she" enough, "she" will listen and be a little hen....I mean shoot the back picture looks like "she" is wearing a dress with a flared ruffles on the bottom. LOL Either way, roo or hen, "she" is not going anywhere!!

I think "she" is precious also! I am amazed at how fast they grow! If I watch enough brooder-vision I swear I can see them growing.

That is so true. It seems like they are just precious and then they hit that little feather cute stage and then all of the sudden they hit that "gawkward" stage. That's the stage when you go to feed them and all you can do is gawk because they suddenly look like space aliens and just in that awkward stage! I have some at all the stages right now.

That egg had to have caused your poor hen a lot of discomfort - I bet she was really proud of herself though - If it was viable i bet you would get a monster baby out of that!

I need a cochin!!!!!!!!!!! i am building a small bantam coop and i have been looking for a buddy for my silkie. i think a cochin would be perfect!!

Yes, a cochin would be a great buddy for a silkie.

My broody partridge pullet has now hatched her 3rd chick. Found the second this morning and when I went out after work to get it to put in my brooder there was another!!!! I have them in the brooder with 9, 11 day old Mille Fleurs. The partridges are 1/2 the size of the milles who have been eating like piggies and are growing like weeds. The little partridges just dive right in and try to snuggle up under the bigger chicks. I don't think the others even notice.

My neighbor gave me 3 Black Copper Marans to brood for him and it will be neat to watch the differences in growth rates. Having strictly bantam cochins myself, the "regular" sized chicks and eggs look huge.

she is awesome!

I think she's awesome. LOL I have my fingers crossed she turns out awesome.....but now I'm semi hoping that she is a he....so I can find a correct female straight feather and put them together. If she's a she then I may go back and get one of their older frizzles, and get a roo, and find a correct straight feather female for it. I read it's better to have the frizzle as the roo?

I have posted this pic on another part of the forum, but since she is a cochin, I wanted to repost. This is my LF Cochin (Courtney) with my dogs and cat. She is part of the pack. She is a house chicken, she does not like it outside and enjoys being covered up during bedtime.
