I have some pics of GL's at 3 months on My Page:

By three months, you should definitely be able to sex them. My males got their lacing later than the females, and males will have lacing primarily on the breast and a bit on wings. The lacing on the females appears a bit earlier, is evident on the breast, wings and back. Watch for the lacing on the back - those should be the females.

Thank you! I will check out your pics too.

Hello! I am new to chickens, and have been reading about the different breeds and temperament characteristics. I came across the White Cochin and fell in love with what I read. I have a small daughter who loves animals as much as myself and would like to get a bird that would do well around her, more like get my daughter her own bird.
Am I on the right track? We have started with some barred rock chicks and some red pullets.

My Cochins are great with kids. In fact it is my Cochins I take out when kids are over, or during events (I did Civil War Girl Scout camp, and lead the chicken station. I brought a Cochin hen and she loved having 30+ little girls fawn all over her.) Naturally, you will have to teach your daughter to handle her bird nicely. As long as she does she should have a very sweet pet.
