Don't get rid of them yet. See if those waddles get bigger or not. They can surprise you when you are not quite sure.

I got this girl a week and half ago...I just adore her (I really think it's a her LOL) she has the softest feathers. Was in with about 40 other chicks, some a bit younger and various breeds, so her feathers are a bit picked and snipped in spots.

Anyways here is "Ivory"

I need some cochin owners to give me their advice? At 10-11 weeks, what gender do you think this one is?

I'm hoping I have a girl because this bird is such a beauty and the foot feathering is amazing... but, I have a GL cochin that is a month older and her waddles and comb are nowhere near as red. The comb and waddles on this one got red pretty quickly... it has a peepy voice... it's in a pen with my silkies who mother "it" and 2 girls that are a month older... the 2 older girls and this one get along but I do notice the 3 of them are trying to position themselves as the top bird.

Soooooo.... girl or boy?

They're sports out of DANNY's Blue Mille project. I'm banking on them being "Blue Patterned Silver Columbians" - Columbians with the Black pattern diluted to Blue. These two look a bit light in the hackle/tail area to be Blues (they're not Coronation/Self-Blues though), but they're showing some Buff shading since they came out of the Mille project, so that's diluting the pattern a bit as well. I'm going to see what happens if I breed each of them to a regular Columbian later this year. Just a fun project to keep myself occupied.
