Another way to brighten my day is spending time with all the others, I have some very sweet birds and I absolutely love just going out and visiting them all. Nothing can heal a heavy heart like a sweet little cochin. Just something about these little birds that fill up your heart

Here are some new pictures of my bantam cochins, taken last night and what do you think as far as sex on the mottled? I thought boy for awhile (I heard crowing) but I'm pretty sure that it was one of my neighbors roosters :

Recently we went away for the weekend and when we came home I found my "favorite" hen Miss Violet lying down and gone.

I know what you mean about the favorites but even when I try to "not pick" a favorite, one or two go ahead and pick me.
It's inevitable they work their way into our hearts ~ and we love them.

I pray that you will get peace and will be able to love and enjoy the feathery babies that you have.
He was a very beautiful boy and you did all that you could.
Try to enjoy the memory of him and keep going.
