Hey everyone! I went overboard on hatching my bantam lavander cochin eggs! I am going to sell 6 of the chicks (now 3 days old from Bill Clegg) and will list them on auction. I am also going to add 2 patridge, 1 buff, 1 black and 1 blue (laid by paint hen) bantam silkies from Catdance Silkies also (7 days old). I will post plenty of pics when listed. I have a Buff Cochin Hen and a beautiful Blue Splash Cochin rooster. they are by far the best birds I have ever had.

How old do Bantam Cochin pullets need to be before they begin to lay? Mine are 27 wks now- I have 5- some have red combs put no eggs yet, is this unusal? I have sussex that are a month younger and are laying.

LOL! My next litter of Irish Wolfhound puppies (Wolfies!) are planned for March 2012. The sire is Grand Champion Zane of Tir Na'Nog and Highcross's Orla. I don't think i can fit a wolfie puppy into an Express Mail Poultry box though! Slainte' Ruth
