I'm lucky I only live 1 hr away so I will be waking up early and going to coop in Saturday Morning

I wish you lived closer too!! I'd love to hang out with ya at the shows!!!

I like living in CT for basically only one reason, Because I can go to this Show , The Boston Poultry Show, Little Rhody, and NEBC Show too all within 2 hr drive. I'm thinking about venturing to NJ shows or NH shows too in the near future. Also, if my birds do well this breeding season I'm going to see if I can get my butt out to crossroads for 2012!

Maybe next year we plan it better and get hotel rooms together and have a nice time hanging out at the Springfield, MA Show. Even though I'm only an hour away I booked and split a room with another woman so we can have a relaxing weekend and catch up on Chicken Chat!

I go to the Gov't Hospital down in Bethesda, MD every now and then for treament and evaluation and it's only like a 5 1/2 hr ride.

I'll be washing them tomorrow Morning and then putting them in the basement to drip dry in wire bottom cages b/c we have a nice warm spot from our woodstove. I always wash them at least 5 days in advance to allow them time to preen and get the oils flowin again

Glad you are going!! I'm only showing 4 bantams and then I entered 8 Silkies too. Yeah I heard this was a big one for them. I am not going with high expectations only to go and have a good time and soak up some good eye candy. What color Bantams are you showing? Will you be selling any stock at this show? I am in need of a white and a black pair badly. I need some new blood for breeding this spring.

How far in advance are you going to get them washed up? At least a week in advance is a good rule of thumb for Cochins. Should be a good turnout for the Cochin Class. I will be there and have entered 26 Bantam Cochins and 5 Large Cochins. The total show number is 2700+ which is a record for the show aside from when they hosted the ABA National.

That sound so fun, so many birds!
Good luck to you both.

thank you I know I'm going to need it with the competition I'm going up against

I'm going to try and get lots of pictures of Cochins, Silkies, and a few other breeds for folks to look at

Set my first large cochin eggs last week and four of the five are fertile. All blues being set right now as that is the only variety laying.

I've gotta say, I have fallen in LOVE with cochins and want more! Here's my little girl Violet who is 8 months old and has yet to lay me an egg.
