Buff Columbians are a recognized breed, I'm not sure if there is a mix that you could put together to produce them, Craig ( Black Cochin Bantams) might know a little more on that subject. I have a little Buff Columbian hatching right now in the incubator~ My hens are starting to lay

You can get buff Columbian by:

1 Buy some from a breeder

2 Breeding Buff Columbian to Buff Columbian

3 Breed a Buff Columbian male to a Columbian hen. Cull all males then breed back best pullets(f1 will possibly/probably have some white feathers) to Buff Columbian male.

4 Buff on Columbian. Cull ,repeat until you get it right.This the slowest and most expensive way

I have a question. I am getting very bad fertility from my Cochin pens. I heard you trip around their vent so the males can do their job. So do I clip the males and females? How much do I take off?
This is one of my young breeders.
