Alright, got 2 more pictures. They are ugly colors but whatever.
The first one has the same type of comb as the rooster, the second white-ish one has 5 points.

So CUTE!!!! The darker one looks a little like my blues did, my blues were darker still, like a solid grey? Lord they are precious!

I just hatched 3 Splash!

One of them is darker, possibly a blue? Or, I hope, a darker Splash. Aren't they cute?

Yup, those are Cochins

and kind of nice ones at that. They may not be show quality, but they are very attractive.

I'm guessing and EE Easter Egger. Are his legs green or slate grey? An Ameraucana mixed who knows! If he is then he may carry the green egg gene.

The long and winding road to Lemon Blue (True Lemon Blue, not buffxblue).

Started looking for Lemon Blues to purchase and, of course, found none. Started with a few BBS just to be ready "someday". Started looking for Brown Reds. Found a few but so far away! Made it down to Crossroads and finally secured the Brown Reds - but just two hens. That's ok, I have the Blues at home.

Unable to stand the wait until Spring, hatched a few chicks over Winter. Well, of course the BBS Rooster had Silver genes rather than gold, so the first chicks are Silver Blues rather than the "Gold" necessary for Lemon Blues.



Even though they are E/ER and S/s+ (S/-) with more time and a few more pairings, some day I will have true Lemon Blues! And I thought it was just rooster x hen, eggs, hatch, viola! (just kidding)

What will the chicks look like if i crossed a buff cochin hen with a partridge cochin rooster.

What will the chicks look like if i crossed a buff cochin hen with a partridge cochin rooster.

they would look like buff cochins with the possibility of a few stripes due to the chicks being heterozygous for wheaten(eWh/eb)
