Oh my God nica, I'm not trying to be insulting and I hope you take this in the spirit it is offered, but that adolescent behind his moma is so ugly he's adorable. I can't help but want to pick him up and love on him.

I'm sitting here reading BYC and watching the Weather Channel. I hope everyone is safe. It looks very bad, lots of tornadoes. I've lived here in central Florida all my life. I've been through quite a few hurricanes. But, tornadoes scare the heck out of me. Again, I hope everyone makes it through the storms safe.

Sorry I have to agree with Mandy. The color of the ruff is also too light and the color pattern in general is wrong for a Partridge. Craig's birds are excellent examples of Partridge Cochins. You can see how deep the red is in the ruff and down the back to the saddle.
This is a picture of my Partridge roo:

They are beautiful!

you're white/splashed boy is not a cochin, maybe he's a Marans. your girl looks to be a silver laced cochin. she doesn't have much for a cushion but her color looks clean to me. but i don't consider myself an expert on this and i'm sure there will be some other opinions on this.

That is a pretty roo!
Not a Marans though - wrong leg color. I only have Cochins but my neighbor has several varieties of Marans.
I dont know what he could be.

Me too! He looks like a Dust Bunny with a beak.

I have always been an animal lover but have had chickens for only about 2 years now. I am continuously suprized by how facinating and beautiful they are; especially Cochins. : )
Chickens, where have you been all my life?
