just looked over my split trio, and looks like he's got yellow(ish) legs but the girls are both dark...

so that's something to work on, but they've got pretty good type IMO... so at least something to work with. i'm in touch with Tom and waiting to see if/what he's got available and willing to part with.

oh and on a different note, i've got a pair of silver laced for sale, if anyone's passing thru sw virginia. nice lacing on both, waiting for them to grow a bit more to determine if type is there. PM me if you might have interest.

I have bantam cochins of about 15 different colors. I keep them for pets and eggs and don't plan on showing them at this point. If I want to keep 2 roosters and have 15 hens of all different colors, what would be the best color for the roosters so I can get a pretty mix of colors in the chicks? Is there somewhere that explains the color genetics for cochins?

Millie, Mildred and Bridgette. Bridgette's eggs are due to hatch this weekend. I gave Mildred 5 of my Ameraucana eggs then Millie took over and Mildred left the nest. Now she's back on and I know she's on some of her own that I don't want her on.

Thanks for all of the help on trimming cochin fluff butts! i appreciate everyones help.

also many of you knew I was looking for certain birds and appreciate all of the pms for birds and eggs. I just got 40 new babies shipped today! I have splash, buff, blue, black and silver penciled now. I have columbians arriving at the end of the month too!

I would still be interested in MF chicks.

silver penciled? or silver laced? i have silver laced, didn't know they came in penciled too.

Hey guys. I'm not on here much, but wanted to let you know that my bantam red Cochin, "Lil' Ropo" went broody. The eggs are now due and she has 10 left from the 12 that were there (no deads, just infertile). So far, one bantam blue Langshan is out with several 9 more babies expected! Including several "Lil' Ropo" mutts with my white Langshan male and some white Langshan bantams and a LF blue Langshan. Should be fun! So excited she was able to pull it off! Especially after I had to move her nest twice! Love her to pieces!


I also got some new Cochin additions to my flock! Kelly Corley (KellyGaCochinFan) sent me some eggs from her birds! I hatched out 3 gorgeous chicks who have stolen my heart with their fluffiness! One beautiful blue boy has something though...can't place it, but he is just drop-dead gorgeous to me.

Kelly took over Star Cochins from Beth and Jerry Smith and she looks to be doing great! Look at my FLUFFIES!!!
