Cochin Thread!!!

I Love seeing everyones pics. I cant wait to see my Cochin full grown and how big he'll get. Here is a pic of him today , he's 9 weeks old Monday.

Marshmallow almost 9 weeks old. (oh by the way boy or girl? I ordered boy but he's not looking very boyish)

I am debating on getting rid of my cochin bantams. I only have 1 pair of blacks and 1 columbian roo. I have not found any worth buying around here. I love my frizzled hen, she is the sweetest little girl. I take her out for free-range sessions, and the kids carry her around like a pet. Of course both my roos have attitude problems, but they are manageable. I recently resorted to plucking my pair's bottoms because I was getting no fertile eggs. If I do not get a fair number of chicks from them, I may just give up and sell them. I don't want to. Anyone have any ideas? Can I build a decent flock from this one pair? Here are a few pics:

Yes you can start a good flock with those birds. Those are Pam Hamilton birds aren't they? If so you will find them to be very good quality birds. If your eggs aren't fertile in a week then pluck more feathers. If you use the Columbian male on the Black hen you will have some VERY interesting birds. PM if you have any questions.

I have a couple of dumb newbie questions...
Can a black hen and a black roo throw non-black babies? Or can black babies not be the traditional black/yellow coloring??
I have a black hen and black roo with 2 blue hens. I just had 5 or 6 babies hatch from the pen. I didn't think the blue hens were laying yet... I thought only the black hen was laying... So 5 or 6 babies hatch (I will have to count) but only one appears black? The others are mostly yellow with light grey backs.... Soooo? Can blacks throw other colors or was one of my 4.5 month old blue hens laying???
I was expecting all black Cochins. I have pics but my computer is being repaired so they are on my phone...
Thanks for humoring my stupidity.....

This chart should give you what to expect on average. I wonder if the Blacks are sport of some sort that would make predicting difficult.

Blue to Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Splash, 25% Black
Splash to Blue = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Splash to Black = 100% Blue
Splash to Splash = 100% Splash
Blue to Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
Black to Black = 100% Black

What do you mean of the sort hard to tell? Could blacks be yellow with grey backs like the blues would be??
