Cochin Thread!!!

That is FANTASTIC news!!!

I am so glad for you!!!
Thank you Gail and Craig! I'm so excited. I've already been home and tried taking care of my birds a couple of times, and I CAN DO IT!!!! There's still a little pain, but it's nothing like it was, I just have to be careful now that I don't over extend.
I have babies that just hatched and finally there are a couple of Blue chicks. They are so adorable with their little wooly-worm feet.

well i'm up 2 more self blues, 1 black and 2 more mille fleur, with 2 more mille and 3 black/self blue pipped.

for more self blues. 8)

if i can get enough decent birds for their own pen, my black roo will go with a splash from Mandy (sent to me as a cockerel, but she oops'ed).

The Mille Fleur rooster that I gave my cousin rules her entire pen. He is a sweethert to all the girls and polite to people but won't let the other roo, a huge Orpington, near the girls. He also chases the Emu in the pen with the flock!

Good grief! That has got to look like a tea cup chihuahua chasing the grand daddy of great danes.

Anyone know how often alpinefarms and shyscreations get on? I pmed them last night to ask if they had any hens/Pullets available and I am anxious to hear back. Looks like they are the only breeders in the state with Mille Fleur Cochin bantams.

#2 Blue LF pullet 13wks 3days, please give input of quality. I bought these out of SQ stock and want to get into showing cochins. I'm very new to the breed so all the input and advice i can get is much appreciated!

#1 13wk 3days black LF cochin roo. From SQ stock, I'm new to cochins so please give your input! thx!!!
LF grow too slowly and develop over a long period of time to give a definitive answer. Not bad for a young bird but way too young to tell. Worried about foot color. is it yellow? If not foot color won't get better with age. 2 & 3 are like #1 too young to know for months.

Okay...I've posted pics of this little girl before, but she still has me puzzled. Hoping some of you might be able to help out. Her color is still a mystery to me, but it has changed quite a bit since she lost some more baby feathers. She also seems....extra fluffy to me. She is our first cochin so we are just learning about the breed. Any advice or input would be appreciated.
