I have a hen that tried to take over another hens nest once she saw the chick in there, luckily I caught her before she killed the chick. Hens are mean sometimes...

well, not a worry, this is an entire breeding pen that went broody. all 2 girls. LOL and they're starting to take the chicklets around to the food and water. haven't gone outside yet tho, so i'm putting food in the house. it's raining HARD right now. (hubby calls it a frog strangler LOL)TOTALLY agree with lilcrow on this. Have lost too many hatched by hens to others in the pen.

Its not any recognized variety. Sounds like corsses of some sort. I myself, will not even try and give my opinion about the way they look, etc without seeing pictures, without the birds being held.Hey guys sorry to interupt anybody's convos, but maybe some one can help me. I recently purchased some cochins at auction. They are juveniles id say breeder quality, they have a few defects. But they are a really pretty color i have never ever seen before. I got a blue mottled hen and 2 of these "special" roos i believe brothers. They are blue barred but with splash flecks ( deeper plain blue feathers and white feathers that occasionally pop up in their pattern. ) So can anyone tell me what color they are? They are definately a color im gonna work on and i will try to post pics soon. Overall they are a splash barred? Anybody ever come across or heard of?
