Casey (Mr. Ree) has gorgeous Frizzles, but I don't know if he can ship to Alaska.

Nancy, Thanx for posting again over here - so I can drool all over again! I know you said you got them at an auction, but if it were me, I'd probably do what I could to see who put them up. It's very unusual to get, when breeding mixed varieties, even two that look alike. It almost leads me to believe that someone in your area may be working on something new. It's hard to believe that they come from an "accidental" mating. Thank you so much for sharing!

WoW Those are beautiful! I <3 the color! Thanks for posting the picture. ( take this with a grain of salt~ I just wanted to say it looks like a buff partridge coloring~ I just can't figure where that pattern would come from except partridge~but I am not well versed in genetics)

Kind of a shot in the dark guess here, but I'm thinking someone had some eb (partridge) based Mille Fleur project birds who lacked that buff base so they crossed in a buff Cochin looking to improve the buff ground color. A lesson I learned this year is that tinkering with my MF line can often produce some real oddball but interesting color combinations.

OOOO pretty birds. Will be interested in learning how they were bred. Definitely something with lacing.

I recentoy aquired two lf mottled cochins but now im afraid that my pair is actually two roos -doh! Can someone confirm or hopefully deny my fears?

You are correct. I try to educate instead of perpetuating the misinformation. The only bird I can think of that is actually described in the standard with the word Lavender is the Lavender Guinea. I do not doubt that silkie people don't read the standard and enter their birds under the correct given name for the variety. They were accepted into the Standard as Self Blue.

Thanks for educating me I don't have any self blue birds to show - therefore did not do this. Didn't see any one enter any that were long time exhibitors either. Just new people.

It is my understanding that the APA and ABA are the governing bodies for exhibiting poultry in Canda, so the Standards are the same for all of North America.

You are right. We do go through the same standards. Our show this weekend coming up is APA sanctioned.

Just spent all Saturday help set up cages and my body hurts lol. It took us 6 hours. This is the biggest show we've had in our area in a very long time.
